Job Description
We are looking for a Producing Assistant to join our Arts Planning and Producing team on a full-time, fixed term, Maternity cover contract until October 2025.
The Producing & Event Management team work on festivals, events and seasons across the breadth of Southbank Centre’s artistic programme, including: Contemporary Music, Classical Music, Performance & Dance, Literature & Spoken Word, Public Programming - including Festival and Public Space programming. Recent and current projects and festivals include Imagine Children’s Festival, Chaka Kahn’s Meltdown, Marina Abramovic Institute Takeover, London Literature Festival, South Asian Sounds, and many more throughout the year. We care about our artists, our audiences and local residents with our location in the heart of Lambeth and we have a considerable programme of events available free at the point of entry bringing people together, and bringing unbeatable cultural experiences to underrepresented audiences.
Working closely with the Head of Producing & Event Management, Producers and wider artistic team, this role is instrumental in providing producing support for festivals and events, including Artifax set-ups, event on sales, event contracting, payment processing, artists visas, travel and accommodation, event delivery support and any other duties as required.
The majority of the Southbank Centre’s artistic events take place Tuesday to Sunday and the post-holder should expect to work some irregular hours during evenings and weekends as required. Time off in lieu (TOIL) is available for extra hours that are necessary to work.
Role objectives
- To provide effective and proactive logistical, administrative and producing support on Festivals and Events at Southbank Centre, working closely with the Head of Producing & Event Management and the Producers.
- To provide efficient and courteous support, and be an informed point of contact, to all those involved with the Producing & Event Management team, including, but not limited to; internal colleagues, artists, partners, producers and promoters.
- To provide administrative and event support to the Event Managers as required.
