Job Description
We are currently looking for an Arts Rentals Manager to join on a full time 12 month fixed term contract.
The Arts Rentals, Partnerships and Administration team look after a broad range of responsibilities within the Arts Planning & Producing department, focusing on income-generation through the Arts Rentals programme, partnership management with Resident Orchestras and other key artistic partners, and management of a wide range of administrative systems and processes.
Main responsibilities include:
- Be the primary Southbank Centre point of contact for Artistic Rental enquiries, providing a timely and consistent response to promoters.
- Agree, draft and oversee contracts for artistic rentals from confirmation to countersigned copy on file, with administrative support from the Arts Administration and Rentals Assistant (AARA).
- To assess rental enquiries from the artistic rentals inbox, booking form and telephone number, working with the HARPA and Head of Classical Music to gauge their suitability in line with commercial and artistic considerations, and liaising with other relevant Artistic leads where necessary.
- Update shared documents and systems as necessary with new rentals, ensuring all rental events are accurate in Artifax (SC’s event database).
- Alongside the Head of Artistic Rentals, Partnerships and Administration, work to ensure the annual income target for Rentals is met by taking a proactive and entrepreneurial approach to booking events, and support the HARPA by keeping the Artistic Rentals budget up to date, monitoring performance against target and reconciling management accounts on a monthly basis.
Key skills that will help you in this role:
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in a live-events booking role, preferably in an arts organisation with a consideration of making artistic assessments against a range of strategic priorities.
- Demonstrable communication skills relevant to managing the hire of an events space with external parties, and the associated administrative skills.
- Significant experience of working with hire contracts and an understanding of standard terms and conditions, and organisational risk.
- Demonstrable financial management skills and the ability to monitor and track financial information against budget targets.
